BREAKING: Juventus Reach Agreement With Newcastle to Sign Nick Woltemade

Newcastle United have reached an agreement with Juventus that will see Nick Woltemade join the Italian giants on a season-long loan.

The Germany international is now set for a move to Serie A after Juventus and Newcastle agreed terms on a temporary deal.

According to the latest reports from Sky Sports News, the agreement does not include an option or obligation for Juventus to buy Woltemade permanently at the end of the season.

That could prove an important detail for Newcastle.

Woltemade Gives Juventus Move the Green Light

Woltemade has reportedly approved the move and is expected to travel to Italy to complete the formalities.

The striker is set to undergo a medical before putting the finishing touches to his season-long switch to Turin.

For Newcastle, the loan gives Woltemade the opportunity to play at a huge European club while remaining firmly part of United’s longer-term plans.

No Purchase Option Is Good News for Newcastle

Perhaps the most interesting part of the agreement from a Newcastle perspective is the absence of any permanent purchase clause.

If Woltemade impresses in Italy, Juventus will not have an automatic route to sign him.

Newcastle therefore retain control over his future and could welcome back a considerably more experienced player next summer.

A successful season in Serie A could also increase Woltemade’s market value considerably.

Newcastle’s Transfer Business Continues

The move comes as Newcastle continue a busy end to the transfer window, with United also moving to strengthen Matthias Jaissle’s squad.

With Woltemade heading for Juventus, attention will now turn to whether Newcastle have finished their business or whether there could still be another late move before the window closes.

For Woltemade, meanwhile, Turin awaits.

The deal:

  • Nick Woltemade to Juventus
  • Season-long loan
  • No purchase option
  • No obligation to buy
  • Player has approved the move
  • Medical in Italy expected next

This looks like sensible business from Newcastle. Woltemade gets the opportunity to play in Serie A while the Magpies retain complete control over what happens next summer.
