Matthias Jaissle Era Officially Begins at Newcastle United

Newcastle United have officially confirmed the appointment of Matthias Jaissle as the club’s new head coach following the resignation of Eddie Howe.
The highly-rated 38-year-old German has signed a four-year contract at St James’ Park after Newcastle agreed a £9.5 million compensation package with Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli.
Jaissle arrives with an impressive reputation, having enjoyed major success with both RB Salzburg and Al Ahli, where he guided the Saudi club to back-to-back AFC Champions League titles. His appointment signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the Magpies.
A Fresh Start for Newcastle United
With Eddie Howe’s era now over, Newcastle have moved quickly to secure one of Europe’s brightest young coaches.
Jaissle is renowned for his high-intensity pressing style, aggressive attacking football and ability to develop young talent—qualities that fit perfectly with Newcastle’s long-term ambitions.
Speaking after his appointment, Jaissle described Newcastle as one of Europe’s biggest clubs and said he was excited by the ambition, vision and direction of the project.
First Match in Charge
The German has already joined up with the squad during their training camp in Spain and will take charge of his first match next Saturday when Newcastle face Valencia in a pre-season friendly.
Supporters will be eager to get their first glimpse of how Jaissle wants his side to play before the Premier League season gets underway.
Fan Opinion
As Newcastle fans, this really does feel like the start of a new era.
Replacing Eddie Howe was never going to be easy after everything he achieved for the football club, but Jaissle arrives with a winning mentality and an exciting brand of football. There will naturally be pressure, especially with changes to the squad this summer, but if he can get the fans behind him quickly, St James’ Park could once again become one of the toughest places to visit.
The journey starts now, and every Newcastle supporter will be hoping Matthias Jaissle can build something special on Tyneside.
