Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has offered a positive update on Bruno Guimarães’ fitness ahead of the club’s crucial Champions League encounter with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

Speaking to the media, Howe revealed that the Brazilian midfielder is doing everything possible to make himself available for the highly anticipated clash. Guimarães, who has been a key figure in Newcastle’s midfield this season, picked up a knock in recent action, raising concerns among supporters about his availability for one of the club’s biggest European fixtures in years.

“Bruno will do all he can to be fit,” Howe said, underlining the midfielder’s determination and commitment. “He’s desperate to play and understands how important this game is for the club.”

Guimarães’ presence could prove vital against a PSG side packed with attacking talent, with his energy, composure, and defensive awareness central to Newcastle’s game plan. While Howe stopped short of offering a definitive answer on whether the midfielder will start, he suggested a late fitness decision will be made closer to kick-off.

Newcastle’s medical team will continue to monitor Guimarães over the coming days as preparations intensify. With qualification hopes hanging in the balance, Wednesday’s showdown at St James’ Park promises to be a defining night in the club’s Champions League campaign.

For now, all eyes remain on Guimarães’ recovery — and whether Newcastle’s midfield talisman can take his place under the lights against the French champions.
